India’s Upcoming Cricket Matches: How I Plan My Life Around the Men in Blue
If I miss anything, it is an Indian cricket match. My calendar is not booked with meetings and birthdays—it's booked with fixtures, toss times, and start times. Whether it's a nail-biting Test or a heart-stopping T20, I've been guilty of missing weddings (yes, even family weddings) just to catch up on the Men in Blue from my drawing room.
It may appear fanatical to others. But to me, the existence of cricket in India is more than entertainment; it is rhythm and tradition, and frankly, one of the few things that maintain my mental well-being in times of crisis. So when the new schedule comes out, I am hooked immediately.
So if you are where I am standing—or at least a die-hard fan wanting to be in the know—here is the lowdown on India's future games, the future test series, and 2025.
The Significance of the Schedule to Me
The 2003 World Cup is etched in my memory. I was ten years old when India lost the final to Australia, and I was in complete despair. This was the start of my cricket madness. Since then, I not only watch the games but have even organized segments of my life according to them.
When the BCCI announces the new schedule, I learn it like it's my own playbook. I plan leaves, reschedule meetings, and even vacation. People plan flights based on the weather. I plan flights based on whether India is playing a game or not.
This year won't be any different. India's 2025 schedule is filled, and it's going to be crazy.
India's Cricket Calendar for 2025: What to Expect
Jan–Mar 2025: Home Test Series
India begin the year with a home 5-test series against England. I'm really looking forward to this one since there is something that overrides everything else in seeing India win comfortably in familiar environments. The ball turning square in Chennai, the Kolkata crowd going out of their minds—I'm already planning my snack strategy for Day 1.
India vs England Test Series 2025 (Preliminary):
1st Test: Jan 3 – Mumbai
2nd Test: 11th January – Bangalore
3rd Test: 19 Jan – Rajkot
4th Test: 27th January – Delhi
5th Test: Feb 4 – Chennai
March-April 2025: ICC World Test Championship Final (Subject to Qualification)
If we remain on top in red-ball cricket, there is also a chance of playing in the WTC Final at Lord's or The Oval. I will be stuck to my television set, hoping for the day when India gets the prized trophy at last.
The Asia Cup Drama: Always a Rollercoaster
June-July 2025: Asia Cup (T20 Format)
Asia Cup is not just a cricket competition; it's claims of dominance, patriotic pride, and a lot of pressure. Whenever India is playing Pakistan, my heart rate goes very high. I mute WhatsApp groups, ignore work emails, and let out primal yelps on seeing sixes.
This year's Asia Cup is being hosted in Sri Lanka, and once again it is in the T20 format. That is, quick action, surprising turns and twists, and plenty of edge-of-the-seat drama.
Possible competitors:
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
Bangladesh
Afghanistan
If the final tournament is anything to judge by, we're in for a ride. I'll be glued to the screen watching every ball.
India's Next Match After Asia Cup
Although the complete schedule following the Asia Cup remains to be confirmed, the following is anticipated:
India will probably be hosting Australia for a white-ball series towards the end of this year. These games are always box office. Remember the 2020 ODI series when we chased 350+? That's the kind of energy I'm looking for.
How I Stay Current (And So Can You)
Knowing the Indian match fixture schedule is not merely having the fixture list, it is a way of life. This is how I keep myself updated:
Use BCCI's Official Website: Their calendar is generally the most recent.
Turn on Google Alerts: Through my mobile phone, I get notified of match fixtures and team lineup announcements.
Cricket Apps: My favorite live score apps are Cricbuzz and ESPNcricinfo.
YouTube Channels: I obtain all my information from pre-match previews and post-match analysis.
My Match Day Ritual (Yes, I Have One)
On Sundays, they attend church services. I revere the performance space.
I wore my lucky blue jersey.
Snacks get replenished: samosas, chips, and way, way, way too much chai.
I deliberately avoid participation in social activities and minimize distractions.
I have a notebook where I write the high points (don't ask me why—I just do!).
It's odd, they say. I say commitment.
Wrapping Up: Why I'll Always Plan Life Around Cricket
Cricket is not a game in India. It's emotion. It's memory. It's legacy. It's my personal timeline. I don't recall years as birthdays or festivals. I recall them as matches.
"Ah, 2011? The World Cup victory."
2023? That ODI final heartbreak.
That's how thoroughly it's integrated into my life.
We are gearing up for a hectic 2025 with plenty of Tests, ODIs, and T20 games, and I am getting more and more enthusiastic. I will keep organizing my day-to-day life, nights or every second minute, keeping Team India on my to-do list. The excitement of watching those blue-clad players on the ground is something unmatched. What about You? Do you think you are that one who plans your entire life just to see a cricket match? What is the next match for which you are eagerly waiting to see? Let us all enjoy this together.
